The catalog is published in conjunction with the exhibition dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, at the Harriman Institute of Columbia University.
This exhibition catalog is the culmination of extensive research into a unique collection of stage design.

It chronicles the development of scenography from the 1910’s through the 1960’s by showcasing the artists who carried on Diaghilev’s legacy of bringing cutting edge art into the theater.

Through set, stage, and costume designs, this vibrant collection celebrates the dynamic relationship between stage design and fine art, architecture and product design that was foreseen by Diaghilev’s artistic vision.
